idukki a tourist spot

Idukki the land of scenic beauty and bio-diverity is one of the major centres of tourist attraction in kerala. Misty hills, cool mountain springs and twitter of birds beckon thousands and thousands of tourists to Idukki. Healing is the touch, delighting is the experience and exotic is appearance that lie in wait for the visitors.
I bring your attention first to Idukki dam, the biggest arch dam in Asia. Its a combination of three dams Idukki, Chrithony and Kulamavu. Then comes the Moolamatton Power House the only underground power house in Kerala. It is really a place to be visited.

What follows next is Thekkadi. Boat racing and face to face encounter with wild animals await you there. Tea and spice plantations that spread their aroma draw you like a magnet to Idukki.

Another place worthy of mention is Mattupetty. Mattupetty is famous for its highly specialised diary, the Indo-Swiss live stock project. Over a hundred varities of high yielding cattles are reared here.

Finally its Munnar the Kashmir of the south. She is breathtakingly beautiful and a haven of peace and tranquility. She has an unending expanse of tea gardens and prestine hills and valleys. Neelakurinji that flowers once in twelve years is yet another enticement of Munnar. Eravikulam National Park and Chinnar wild life sanctuary will really be feast for the eyes. Both are home for a wide range of flora and fauna. Eravikulam National is the abode ot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.

Sometimes, there are moments when we long to get back to peace and solitude. Then think of Idukki. You're welcome to Idukki. Come, enjoy and have your minds refreshed, or rather intoxicated.
