Though I gave the title "A Love Failure", the whole thing can't be called love. It was just an attraction to make a girl my friend.
It took place when I was studying in II standard. There was a girl named Rasna in my class. She was very studious and smart. Moreover, she was one of the few girls who mingled with boys, off course with the smart ones. So I saw those friends as privileged ones. I desperately sought her friendship. unfortunately, I had no courage to approach her.
"How to make her my friend"? I spent day and night pondering over it. Finally, there came an idea.
My father had a printing press then. I thought of printing her name in different fonts and giving that to her so that I can establish friendship with her.
To execute my plan, one morning, I got up before my parents wake up and in the light of a candle I took prints of her name in different fonts.
"Now, how to give her this valuable piece of my effort?"
The solution was in the form of Sujith, the second rank holder of the class.
I gave it to Sujith and asked him to hand that over to Rasna. Disastrous was her response. She threw those pieces of papers mercilessly, saying, "hey, what are all these, i don't want these"
I felt like my heart being torn into pieces
"Triby gave these", Sujith cried out
"My God" I hid myself behind a desk; what else an eight year old boy can do?
From then onwards ......... I had little problem to face girls......Now it's okay
